  • Amanda Joseph is a volunteer for the schools program. She has a background in linux administration, with over 4 years experience. Amanda recently moved to Cape Town and is no longer an active member.
  • Bradley Clayton looks after the Albany Schools Network's infrastructure, and consults to some of the schools. Bradley has moved to Johannesburg to work with OpenVoice and is no longer an active member.
  • Cheryl Hodgkinson-Williams is the Associate Professor of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Education Department at Rhodes. Cheryl recently joined CET at UCT and now lives in Cape Town. She is no longer an active member
  • Cleopatra Biko (Bulelwa Lubelwana) is a lecturer in the Computer Science department. She is actively promoting the GoOpenSource campaign in the disadvantaged scools.
  • Guy Antony Halse is currently working for the I.T. Division. He was one of the first people at Rhodes to get involved in schools networks and computers.
  • Hannah Slay is a lecturer in the CS department and develops content for teachers training in computer literacy programmes for the schools in Grahamstown and Dwesa. She is also involved in ICT for education research specifically focusing on mobile technologies and HCI.
  • Ingrid Siebörger is a past M.Sc student from Rhodes Computer Science. Her Masters thesis investigated the current infrastructure of the secondary schools in Grahamstown and proposed an Educational Metropolitan network for the schools. She is currently employed on a full time basis for the COE as a Research Assistant, continuing the work that was begun in providing schools with Internet connectivity. Her PhD work investigates suitable and cost effective ICT labs that meet pedagogical, technical and economic needs of South African schools.
  • Lorenzo Dalvit is a Lecturer in the Department of Education at Rhodes University. His academic background is in Sociology (Laurea from the university of Trento, Italy) and Linguistics (MA from Rhodes), and he is passionate about Computers and their use in education. He is interested in issues of access to Education. In contemporary South Africa these are language barriers and digital divide.
  • Mamello Thinyane is currently doing his research in the Department of Computer Science focusing on the implementation of ISTs in marginalized communities (@ field in Dwesa). He is also helping out with the development of training material for the Grahamstown and Dwesa schools.
  • Mici Halse is a lecturer in the Computer Science department. She investigated live/synchronous virtual classrooms for her M.Sc which she hopes will allow disadvantaged schools to take part in live virtual class webcasts using only a browser and an Internet connection.
  • Nikiwe Maholwana-Sotashe was a teacher at the Amasango School in Grahamstown. She is now in the District DoE office as the ICT co-oridinator for the area. She is completing her MEd full thesis on teachers' perceptions of ICT integration in the curriculum in the Grahamstown circuit.
  • Nombeko Mbane is a foundation phase teacher at a farm school, Masakahane Combined School, in the Sevenfountains area. She completed her MEd full thesis on learners' perceptions of ICT integration in the curriculum in the Grahamstown circuit.
  • Robert Alfonsi is an M.Sc student from the University of Pisa, Italy, who is currently involved in designing courses and developing contents for teachers participating in computer literacy programmes for schools.
